Devin Simonson’s Comeback: A Second Chance to Shine with Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX Yamaha
Devin Simonson is gearing up for another shot at the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship, this time back with the Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX Yamaha team. But here’s where it gets controversial—after a wrist injury cut short his 2025 Supercross-only campaign, many wondered if he’d ever get a real chance to prove himself. Now, Simonson is ready to rewrite the story with a fresh 2026 contract focused solely on Supercross.
In 2025, Simonson’s season was limited to just the final three rounds of the 250SX East Division, where he finished 9th in both East Rutherford and Pittsburgh, and 19th in Salt Lake City. While these results showed promise, they didn’t fully reflect his true potential, especially considering he was still recovering from injury. This raises an intriguing question: could a fully fit Devin Simonson break into the top five next year, especially when we’ve already seen impressive performances from riders like Coty Schock and Maximus Vohland this season? It’s worth noting that Simonson also snagged a top ten finish in the 450SX class back in 2023 at the Salt Lake City finale, although that was late in the season when several top riders were sidelined due to injuries. Still, these glimpses hint at a bright future in Supercross for Simonson.
Adding to the excitement, ClubMX has announced that Simonson will also compete in the WSX series through a partnership with Rick Ware Racing, giving him a broader platform to showcase his skills.
Here’s the official word from ClubMX:
Devin Simonson Version 2.0: The Comeback Story
CHESTERFIELD, SC – In 2024, Devin Simonson was handed a golden opportunity by ClubMX to race and represent the team in the highly competitive 2025 Eastern Regional Supercross Series—a dream come true for many riders. Unfortunately, a broken wrist in December 2024 derailed his plans, limiting his ability to compete until the very end of the season. Despite this setback, Simonson managed to line up for the last three races in New Jersey, Pittsburgh, and Salt Lake City, finishing within the top ten in his region each time. While respectable, these results didn’t fully showcase his natural talent.
Most teams might have moved on, but ClubMX believes in giving Simonson another chance. For 2026, he’s secured a new “250 Supercross only” contract, with the decision on whether he races in the East or West series to be made later. What’s clear is that Simonson is preparing to be ready for whatever comes his way.
Since the season wrapped, Simonson has intensified his focus on fitness, training, and nutrition, showing remarkable improvements in his overall health and conditioning. His positive attitude has always been a standout quality, but now it’s matched by a renewed commitment and laser focus to prove that this partnership is the right move for both him and the team. The collaboration between ClubMX and Rick Ware Racing will also allow Simonson to compete internationally starting in October, providing valuable experience and exposure.
Simonson’s journey began in 2006 when he first hopped on a motorcycle in Terre Haute, Indiana. Inspired by his hero Ken Roczen, he adopted the racing number #70, mirroring Roczen’s, as he climbed the ranks with determination and passion.
Fast forward to today, Simonson has earned his place among the sport’s elite and is ready to seize the opportunity that 2026 presents. This upcoming season could very well be a turning point in his career.
Simonson shared his thoughts:
"I’m genuinely thrilled to have this opportunity again. ClubMX has been a cornerstone of my racing journey for a long time, and getting another chance to prove myself means everything. The ClubMX facility offers everything I need to succeed—the tracks, nutrition programs, health and wellness center, trainers, and so much more. I couldn’t ask for a better environment to reach my goals, and I’m grateful every single day."
Daniel Blair, General Manager of ClubMX, added:
"Training with Devin every day is a privilege. His natural talent is undeniable, but this year, there’s a new confidence that makes him a serious contender. What’s even more impressive is how well he takes coaching—he’s constantly learning and improving. Devin is shaping up to be one of those riders who leaves everyone asking, ‘How did they do that?’ We’ll definitely be talking about him a lot this season."
