Big news for event-goers in the Dulles area! The Dulles Town Center mall is stepping up its game and planning to launch a brand-new expo and event center, aptly named the DTC Expo & Event Center, set to open its doors next year.
This exciting development comes as a direct response to a significant shift in the local event landscape. The well-known Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly is closing down at the end of this year to make way for a new IKEA store. This closure leaves a void for various events, including popular toy shows, craft fairs, trade shows, and even gun shows, all of which need a new permanent home.
The DTC is stepping up to fill this need. The former Lord & Taylor department store space within the mall will undergo a major transformation. Imagine a complete makeover and refurbishment to create a massive 120,000 square foot event hall!
What kind of events can we expect? The mall's owner has big plans, envisioning a diverse range of gatherings. Think trade shows, exhibitions, conventions, concerts, corporate functions, and community events – a true hub for all sorts of activities.
Srini Chavali, the landlord of the Dulles Town Center, expressed his excitement in a press release: "We’re excited to introduce this next-generation event space at Dulles Town Center. The DTC Expo will strengthen our role as a true community hub—one that unites business, culture, entertainment, and connection across Loudoun County and beyond. More importantly, it will stimulate local economic growth, benefiting hotels, restaurants, and retail throughout the area.”
The grand opening of the new expo center is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026.
But that's not all! The DTC Expo & Event Center will be joining other exciting new additions to the mall. The Burn has already reported on these, including the 810 Entertainment venue, which offers bowling, laser tag, axe throwing, and more. Also on the horizon are a Sky Zone trampoline park, a Cloudbound indoor toddler park, and the Libero volleyball training facility.
